POLU KAI GRILL

Another restaurant  located in Serendra... Polu Kai Grill, a Hawaiian-Polynesian restaurant.  It's our first time to be in this kind of resto and  I had a hard time ordering since I don't know what to choose and ended up with Chicken Loco Moco.  Well, actually I think it is not really a solid Hawaiian dish, but I like chicken, only that it is a chicken patty.,with mushroom gravy and egg served on top of the rice.  The  prices, I think, are expensive as the said dish (chicken loco moco) costs 230+ pesos.  The  other food that we ordered Grilled Shrimp Bacon Skewer costs 350+ pesos and it was really good.  Well, what else can I say, I like the ambiance and stafff are friendly.

Sentro 1771

Sentro 1771 is a restaurant serving Filipino cuisine. You can compare this to Abe, or Cafe Adriatico since they serve Pinoy dishes and prices are in the same range which are quite expensive for ordinary Filipinos. But forget the price, because we love the food here (at least for the dishes that we ordered) and of course for the attentive and friendly staff in their Serendra branch. We ordered Corned Beef Sinigang, as this is the house specialty. If you order sinigang, before it is served, a crew will come with a broth and ask you if the level of sourness is just right or you want it more or less, so it's the customer's choice sa asim. Well, their sinigang is great, but honestly, it has no distinct taste with the other sinigang except it has corned beef. What I like the most is their Sizzling Tofu which, by the way, we got as a complimentary as my buddy has "Enjoy" card. Their sizzling tofu costs around 250 pesos, which is really a must-try. We also have Tilapia Fillet in coconut milk which is good and their delicious strawberry shake.

Okusina - Greenhills

Sounds Japanese resto, but no it isn't. It is a resto serving barbecues and some Filipino food. Kusina is a Tagalog term for "kitchen" (Spanish: cocina). It is located in V-Mall Garden in Greenhills, San Juan. For a change, we decided to eat here with my buddy who, at that time, just took a break from work. We ordered barbecue meals-- pork bbq and steak bbq. The food was just ordinary, nothing special for the taste, at least for my opinion, but the worse part was they forgot to serve the steak bbq meal, so my buddy decided to just take the food out and just eat it in his office as he's just taking his break. I don't know if their crew, at that time, was just incompetent or what, but the thing is, we were the only customers at that time except for two patrons on the other table, who by the way got their order first even if we arrived and ordered ahead of the m (kilala na kasi ata si la dun).

Their budget meals range 75 to 150 pesos and their specialties (like beef kare-kare, sinigang, adobo) range from 100+ to 200+.

The French Baker

If you think The French Baker serves only bread, or a French bread, think again. Besides baguettes, croissants, bagles, and ciabatta, French Baker also offers variety of food like sandwiches, salads, pasta, and chicken meal, like in some restaurants. They have, of course, Filipino bread like pandesal and monay. Most branches are located in the malls. Some branches, if not all, have end-of-day sale where you can get big discounts for the price of their breads. So if you happen to be in a mall and you see a long line of people in queue outsi
de a French Baker branch, just before the mall closing hour, surely it is for their end-of-day sale. You can check their website here.
